Apple today announced that it plans to open a retail store in Staten Island, New York on Saturday, October 15, 2005. The store is located at 2655 Richmond Ave. Apple plans the Grand Opening for the public at 10:00 a.m. The company has also said that the first 1000 people to visit the Apple store receive a free Apple T-shirt.
Of course, the only true reason I want to visit is this:
In addition, visitors can enter the Grand Opening Sweepstakes for a chance to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection* valued at $2350. No purchase is necessary and entries will be accepted from October 15th through November 15th.

Hmmm, maybe I'll wait till my visit to finally purchase some much needed hardware.
