I Wasn't The Only One

Don't get me started on the fact that the "bad guys" are the brown people from the East who are riding elephants, carrying scimitars, and wearing turbans. The books were written by a British guy, let's not forget. -- anil dash on LOTR: ROTK & "Spoiler Queens"

I enjoyed the trilogy, especially the final installment, so spare me your criticisms and any blathering about the time frame of the books. I understand, yet don't understand the need for color-coding in the movies. Frodo can't have one bruvah help his funny looking ass out, but tons of them going up against the "good guys?" Hmpf.

Still haven't gotten into LOTR. I'm in need of another brain, I'm sure of it. Posted by: ej on December 29, 2003 04:22 PM

ej (AKA DJ Swole): Nah, it's just a trilogy. I guess you can host a special showing of all three movies once the last comes out on DVD. Be sure to invite me. pyoruba: I would give the same advice. I read part of the trilogy many years ago and couldn't get all wrapped into the plotlines. It's just good to watch. Posted by: ronn on December 30, 2003 08:08 PM
Bump the LOTR Trilogy. I'm a Matrix Trilogy man. Middle Earth is wack. :) Posted by: S-Train on December 30, 2003 10:32 PM
S-Train: Puh-leeze! LOL While I relate more to the Matrix Trilogy, it ended on somewhat of a downer, IMMHO. Because of it's time-frame and mystical bearings, I could suspend reality and enjoy the goodness of the LOTR -- altho the color-coding BS did give me ticks every once in a while.
