Gordon Parks, Half Past Autumn
One of these days I'll write about meeting one of my idols. For now, just enjoy Half Past Autumn: the Life and Works of Gordon Parks.

had the pleasure of writing to Mr. Parks when I was 15 years old. I had some poems I wanted him to read. To my surprise I received a letter back from him telling me to send them. The letter is long gone that he sent to me and also then my last name was Hogan from Decatur, GA. For some reason I after hearing from Mr. Parks, I felt my poems were not good enough for a man of his level, but that never changed the love I have for him. I loved everyone of his Poems. If by chance Mr. Parks gets this note, please tell him this now 46 year old woman will always thank him for writing me back.
